Band Soegi Bornean finally speaks out regarding the allegations made by former vocalist Fanny Soegi. One of Fanny’s main demands is the royalty for the song “Asmalibrasi.”
According to the Instagram account @soegiborneanmusik, Fanny Soegi’s accusations are deemed inappropriate and not in line with reality. The royalties for the song “Asmalibrasi” have been distributed according to the agreement.
“From the beginning, we have distributed the royalties for Asmalibrasi according to the agreed amount,” wrote the account @soegiborneanmusik on Monday (9/9/2024).
“Fanny was always involved in the discussions regarding the royalty distribution. We have no issues with the songwriter and still communicate well,” they added.
Bornean Soegi even stated that they are still collaborating with the songwriter of “Asmalibrasi” for their new album titled “Langkah Rupa.” Therefore, they are ready to reconcile the royalties with the relevant parties if needed.
The accusations of mismanagement have also been denied. It was revealed that Fanny Soegi has been part of the Soegi Bornean management since its inception in 2019.
“She (Fanny) was involved in every decision-making process. All financial transactions were also managed by Fanny’s partner, YA,” disclosed the account @soegiborneanmusik.
The account also clarified Fanny Soegi’s story about being forced to perform just seven days after her mother’s passing. According to them, Fanny was the one who agreed to perform during that period of mourning.
“We attempted to find a replacement vocalist and were willing to perform without pay. However, Fanny agreed to perform at that event,” they explained.
Regarding the dispute on social media, Soegi Bornean hopes to communicate better with Fanny Soegi. However, Fanny’s reaction was unexpected.
“Do you believe this?” Fanny Soegi wrote on the Instagram account @soegiborneanmusik on the same day. Support for Fanny poured in from netizens.
Even when the clarification from @soegiborneanmusik was reshared by the account @lambe_turah on Tuesday (10/9/2024), netizens expressed more trust in Fanny Soegi’s side of the story.
“I’m still on Fanny’s team. That’s all,” commented the account @wenyf***. “If the band were actually right, the vocalist wouldn’t have left.” retorted the account @megoyy***.
“Typing a long response until late… When the clarification post goes up, no one believes it,” criticized the account @ayankza***.
Meanwhile, Fanny Soegi, through her X account @fannysoegi, expressed gratitude for the incredible support from netizens.
“Friends, thank you so much! I’ve been holding this in for a long time, and now I truly feel relieved. Thank you very much,” concluded Fanny Soegi.
